Questions
Questions and answers
Short answers for buyers and dealers. The full rules are in the buyer and dealer terms.
Buying
Who can buy on Mobility1?
Registered businesses, other dealers included. When you open an account you send one cent from your company's business account, with your own code; we compare the account's name with the KvK register before your first offer or reservation. No documents, no ID copy. A dealer never buys its own vehicles, and Mobility1 staff, inspectors and affiliates never buy.
Which vehicles are on Mobility1?
Everything with wheels and a Dutch plate that a registered Dutch dealer sells: cars, vans up to 3,500 kg, campers, motorbikes, scooters and mopeds, and trailers. We check every plate in the RDW's register. Lorries, buses and tractors come later.
Is the price fixed?
No auction. Every vehicle has one fixed price, shown to every buyer: buy it, or, where offers are open, make a private offer and hear back within 24 hours. There is no clock to race and nobody to outdo.
Is VAT included in the price?
Every vehicle says so beside its price. A margin vehicle (marge) is sold under the margin scheme: the dealer's invoice shows no VAT. A vehicle sold with VAT (btw) has 21% VAT in its asking price, and the dealer's invoice shows it; its page also gives the price without VAT. The dealer states which it is for every vehicle.
Who is the seller, and when do I see the dealer?
The dealer is the seller; Mobility1 inspects the vehicle, markets it and answers offers for the dealer. Vehicle pages show the town and the last four characters of the chassis number. Once you reserve, My desk shows the full chassis number, the yard and the dealer's company name, phone and e-mail.
What does the inspection cover?
For a car, van or camper: the documents (the dealer holds the registration card and its code, no lender or lease company is left, the APK is valid, the chassis number on the vehicle matches the papers, the NAP check finds the mileage logical), all 13 body panels, the tread of each tyre, nine engine and mechanical checks, and a test drive of at least 10 km. Motorbikes, scooters and trailers have their own lists. The mileage shown is the inspector's own reading. A failed document keeps a vehicle off the site. The report describes the vehicle on the inspection date. It is Mobility1's own inspection, not an APK or RDW inspection, and it is not a warranty.
Can I negotiate?
Where private offers are open, you can make one open offer per vehicle at a time, below the asking price. Mobility1 answers for the seller within 24 hours, one offer at a time: yes, no, or one counter-offer to you alone, which stays open for 24 hours. Nobody else sees your offer, and the asking price never changes because of it. Until you reserve, you can withdraw your offer.
How do I reserve a vehicle?
Reserving opens once payments are live. You pay the buyer service fee of €250, including VAT, to Mobility1 itself, as your payment page shows: by iDEAL or card through Stripe, our payment provider, or by bank transfer. The vehicle stays available until a payment arrives: the first payment to arrive reserves it, and the vehicle is then locked for you for 72 hours. An accepted offer holds the vehicle for you for 24 hours, so you can pay the fee.
Do I get the fee back?
In full if the seller does not go ahead, or if your money arrives after someone else reserved the vehicle. If you withdraw after reserving, or do not pay the dealer in time, we keep €62.50 for the checks done for you and refund the rest. Refunds go back to the account or card the money came from.
How do I pay for the vehicle? Can my lender pay?
The whole price goes straight into the dealer's account that My desk shows, marked “checked by Mobility1”: from you or your lender, within the 72 hours of your reservation, best as an instant transfer. Your bank checks the account's name before the money goes. You never pay Mobility1 for the vehicle: its commission is the dealer's cost, invoiced to the dealer after the sale.
When do I get the vehicle?
Once the dealer has confirmed your payment, it hands over the vehicle and transfers it to your company at the RDW, in its own RDW system or at a post office. You collect the vehicle at the dealer's yard.
Someone asked me to pay them. Is that right?
No. Mobility1 never asks you to pay a person, or to pay into an account given by phone, SMS or WhatsApp. Do not pay, and report it to us.
Selling
Which dealers can sell, and what do I need?
Dealers registered in the Netherlands. Apply with a KvK extract, not older than 3 months; two different people at Mobility1 check every application. You also need a business bank account in your company's name. For now we list vehicles first registered in 2016 or later. How selling works
Can dealers buy vehicles on Mobility1?
Yes: inspected stock from other dealers for your yard. When you apply as a dealer you also accept the buyer terms, and once two people at Mobility1 have approved your application, your account can buy too. Reserving opens once payments are live. A dealer never buys its own vehicles. Buying as a dealer
What does it cost, and when am I paid?
Listing is free. When a vehicle sells, the commission is 2.5% of the final price, at least €300 and at most €3,000, plus 21% VAT; for a vehicle sold with VAT, of the price including its VAT. The buyer, or the buyer's lender, pays you the whole price, straight into your checked account; confirm it in My desk before you hand over the vehicle. Mobility1 invoices the commission after the sale, payable within 14 days.
Do I see the offers?
No. You give us your lowest price, and buyers never see it. Where offers are open, Mobility1 answers them for you, one at a time and within 24 hours, and never accepts or counters below your lowest price. When a vehicle is reserved, we e-mail you the price, and My desk shows the buyer's contact.
Can I change my price, or sell the vehicle elsewhere?
Ask for a new asking price in My desk, with a reason. Not while an offer is open; buyers see the new price once Mobility1 agrees to it. You can change your lowest price until the vehicle is held or reserved, but not raise it while an offer is open. For the days you chose, 7 to 30, you do not sell the vehicle elsewhere.
